GA Games + Patti Wilder Info

    Hi all!

If your child is interested in participating in these optional swim meets, please visit the links below to sign your child up in time.

GA Games - registration here. This is paid independently by each family. Arbor Bridge does not pay for these events nor is involved in any capacity. This is a usually smaller meet, where the chances of earning the top 3 spots is more achievable! Ribbons and medals are awarded. Deadline to register is Tuesday June 9th. Encourage your swimmer(s) to join and swim for a chance to swim for State!

Patti Wilder - more information here regarding rules and payments, plus other important information you will need to go over. This meet is also to swim for a chance at State! Meet is held June 26th-28th, Friday-Sunday.

    • Mountain View Aquatic Center
      • 2650 Gordy Pkwy Marietta, GA 30066

Individual events are paid independently to Arbor Bridge via Venmo - @Arbor-Bridge-Swim or cash/check (made to Arbor Bridge Swim Team) and Arbor Bridge makes the payment as a whole team upon registration. Remember - if your child is interested in a relay, relays are paid by the team. Do let your coaches and/or coordinator know so we can build them if we have enough kids willing to do a relay.

If your child is interested in swimming in the Patti Wilder meet, please log-in to arbgators.swimtopia.com and see Meets and Events - click - look to the bottom of the dates and you'll see the Patti Wilder event. Click the RSVP and read and follow the directions. We need all participants to also please fill out this Google form so we know where to place each swimmer. Instructions and information can be found in the event description. Also, please RSVP in the event calendar portion just like you would in a neighborhood meet.

Deadline to register is Friday June 12th. Late entries are accepted as of Friday 15th till the 18th at 12 noon. Payments due Tuesday June 23rd. We make our whole payment to the meet on Thursday June 24th. Heat sheets will be posted as of Thursday June 24th.

Please see the information sheets in the clubhouse windows for reminders.

Important to note: bring your child(ren)s birth certificates with you. If your child qualifies for State, you will need to declare your swimmer immediately if they are going or not and provide the birth certificate. You only have 30 minutes after your child's heat is finished to declare. If you do not declare, but want to go, you forfeit your spot. You must declare your swimmer, even if they've reached 4th or 5th - there's a good chance they may get a chance due to someone in the top 3 not declaring either in time or scratching.

We will hold optional morning practices on Wednesday and Thursday for those participating in the meet. These practices are not required but could be helpful in getting more practice in for your events. Times TBD based on ages participating.

A team luncheon will be held following Thursday morning's practice to IHOP on 3130 Johnson Ferry Rd, Marietta, GA 30062 around 12 noon. Please let Beverly or coaches know if you plan to attend so we ensure we have enough tables. This is for the swimmers who are participating in the Patti Wilder meet ONLY. Families are welcome to attend, but only the swimmer's' meals are covered by the swim team.

Thursday evening at 5pm there is an optional warm-up at Mountain View Aquatic Center. This is highly encouraged to attend, especially if your swimmer has never swum off of blocks before. Also highly encouraged for other teammates to get a feel for the water. Beverly will bring 3 tents for the meet that weekend placed behind the building and will have our Arbor Bridge Gators sign hanging up. Please bring your folding camp chairs, sharpies, snacks, and drinks and anything to help pass the time as this could be an all-day affair for your swimmer(s) if they make finals Friday or Saturday. Although, the meet should be quick since they are dividing the days up by age group this time.

Age groups and days as follows:

    • 13-18 y/o only - Friday morning, be there by 7am - warm-ups begin at 7:30am
      • Prelims begin at 9:15am.
      • Finals warm-ups begin 2 hours after prelims are over
      • Finals begins 3 hours after prelims are over
    • 9-12 y/o only - Saturday morning, be there by 7am - warm-ups begin at 7:30am
      • Prelims begin at 9:15am
      • Finals warm-ups begin 2 hours after prelims are over
      • Finals begins 3 hours after prelims are over
    • 5-8 y/o only - Sunday morning, be there by 7am - warm-ups begin at 7:30am
      • Finals begin at 9:15am (no prelims)

Hopefully I didn't leave anything out! Lots of information, I know...but that's the spirit of swim meets! We want to give every child an equal opportunity to swim for teams beyond the neighborhood swim team. We have so many kids who have joined year-round swimming - it's such a popular sport that seems to always have room for one more swimmer with no limitations on how many can join.

Swimming for a neighborhood is one thing, but swimming for yourself is a whole 'nother game! Encourage your swimmer(s) to try and attend either/or both meets. They're cheap to join, and they swim for a chance to swim for State and earn medals and ribbons! We've got so many talented kids! Having a chance to swim outside of the neighborhood can only make their strokes stronger, their form cleaner, and overall boost that confidence in themselves! You swim really against yourself, pushing to get the best time possible.

I hope to see many more sign-ups for either meet!! Do RSVP whether you are going or not!!

    Thanks,
