First Week + Announcer Need
Great first week of practice everyone!
Remember: Monday afternoon practice will be a time trial practice. This is to test the time drops system and all of the swimmers with their latest times and to make sure those in the younger groups can make it across the pool in under 90 seconds. Your swimmer MUST be able to swim across the pool unassisted (with minimal holding on to the wall or lane lines) in under 90 seconds in order to be eligible to swim in meets.
If your child cannot meet the minimum, it may not be safe for them to compete at this time, but that is not to say they can't at another meet! With practice they can only get stronger! Be sure to come to as many practices as you can!
That being said, we will need assistance with the timers. If you can help out during your age group's testing, do let me know! We just need 4 people for each age group. If you selected "timer" for one of your volunteer shifts, this is a great way to get some practice in! Especially if you've never done it before.
Lastly, we are in need of an announcer!! We need someone(s) for the 3 home meets. You don't have to do all 3, if you can only do 1 or 2. The announcer gets to sit by the pool and simply announce each event and heat, with the occasional mention of any news/updates, and sponsorship shout-outs (which we have printed out for you on what to say). If we don't have an announcer, we can't hold the meet!!
Thanks!!
